Animal Services
Dog & Cat Licensing: Any person who shall own, keep or harbor a dog or cat over the age of six (6) months within the Village of Eagle's corporate limits shall, within thirty (30) days after acquisition, license each dog or cat annually before the first (1st) day of May each year. Upon payment of the license fee, the Village office shall issue to the owner of a dog or cat a license certificate and a metallic tag which shall be properly attached to a collar or harness. *Click Here for a License Application*
Dogs/Cats Running At Large: All dogs or cats running at large shall be impounded in a suitable animal shelter until delivered to the Humane Society by a Village of Eagle employee or other authorized person.
Dogs; Barking & Offensive: It shall be unlawful for any person to own, keep or harbor any dog which by loud, continued or frequent barking, howling or yelping shall annoy or disturb any neighborhood or person, or which habitually barks at or chases pedestrians or drivers where they are on any public sidewalks, streets or alleys within the Village of Eagle.
Dogs: Vicious: It shall be unlawful for any person to own, keep or harbor any dog of a dangerous or ferocious disposition that habitually snaps or manifests a disposition to bite. Such dog shall constitute a nuisance and shall be abated by appropriate procedures.
Dogs/Cats; Kennels Prohibited: No more than three (3) dogs or more than three (3) cats in excess of six (6) months of age is allowed per family or residence. Maintaining a kennel shall constitute a nuisance to be abated by appropriate procedures and subject to fines and impoundment.
Fowls: No chickens, geese, ducks, pheasants, turkeys, peafowl or guineas are allowed within the corporate limits of the Village of Eagle.
Agricultural Animals: No horses, mules, cows, sheep, goats or swine are allowed within the corporate limits of the Village of Eagle. No more than three (3) rabbits may be kept or harbored on a lot of record within the corporate limits of the Village of Eagle.
Beekeeping: No person, business or corporation shall keep, harbor or maintain the facilities for the keeping and harboring of bees within the corporate limits of the Village of Eagle.
